Swarthmore v. Haverford

Swarthmore and Haverford duke it out in one of Swat's first home chess matches. The match ended 3-2 for Swarthmore, with Noah Pang '11 defeating Sebastian Lara '08, Jonathan Estey '08 defeating Patrick Donnelly '09, and Dan Durand '10 defeating Adolfo Cuesta '10.

Jeff Kahn '10 and Amy Langdon '11 were defeated by Haverford's Costigan-Humes '10 and Ben Marsden '08, respectively. The match was the first competitive event for Durand, Kahn, and Langdon.

I love how this is the closest thing to a sports story a staff member has reported on all year.
