Men's Lacrosse Loses 7-6 Heartbreaker to Haverford
With a big crowd on hand for Senior Day, the Swarthmore men’s lacrosse team finished their 2010 campaign on Saturday with another heartbreaking Centennial Conference loss. The 7-6 defeat to rival Haverford was the Garnet’s seventh Conference loss of the season, as the team finished the year at 4-9 overall, 1-7 in Conference play.
F&M Steamrolls Garnet Women's Lacrosse 17-7
The Franklin and Marshall Diplomats women’s lacrosse team has made three consecutive Division III National Championship games. On Tuesday, the defending national champions were efficient on offensive and suffocating on defensive en route to a 17-7 victory over the homestanding Swarthmore Garnet.

On Saturday, sophomore Kenyetta Givans earned two gold medals to lead the Swarthmore women’s indoor track team to a seventh place finish at the Centennial Conference Championships. The men’s indoor track team earned eighth place in the Centennial Conference Championships. The men’s lacrosse team (1-0) got its season off to a winning start by defeating Eastern (0-1) 8-2 on Saturday night. The women’s tennis team (2-0) defeated Oberlin College (3-4) at the Mullan Center 8-1 on Sunday.

The Swarthmore College women’s tennis team (1-0) got its season off to a winning start on Saturday by beating NYU (0-3) 5-4 at the Mullan Center. The Swarthmore men’s tennis team (1-1) began its home season by easily dispatching NYU 9-0. On Senior Day at Tarble Pavilion, the Swarthmore College men’s basketball team (7-18, 6-12 CC) fell to Haverford 71-48. On Saturday afternoon, the Swarthmore women’s basketball team (12-13, 9-11 CC) defeated visiting Haverford 63-50.
Swat Men's Basketball Claims Road Victory Over McDaniel 62-51
The Swarthmore Garnet Men’s basketball team has been plagued by road woes over the past three years, failing to win a single road game in 37 attempts. But for the first time since January 24, 2007 at Washington College, the Garnet claimed victory in a true road game, defeating McDaniel Green Terror 62-51 from Westminster, MD on Wednesday night.
